tmcnet.com – CableLabs (News – Alert) recently hosted an interoperability event that focused on advanced advertising over cable. In addition, the event demonstrated how cable operators can insert targeted ads in VOD programs. The major highlight of the event was from Canoe Ventures, owned by the six biggest U.S. MSOs, which showcased its national VOD Dynamic Ad Insertion platform as a “key benchmark” for participating suppliers.

CED Magazine - Cable moved a few steps closer to developing an industry-wide common advertising platform during a set of interoperability tests at the end of last month. CableLabs said that several combinations of equipment from various vendors that previously hadn’t been tested together turned out to operate with each other, all demonstrating the ability to perform dynamic ad insertion in VOD streams.
